Why the percentages should not simply be added

A 10% coupon plus 5% cashback does not necessarily equal 15% of the original purchase. The coupon may reduce the amount on which cashback is calculated, and gift-card payment can sometimes affect portal eligibility.

How CashewBack calculates the estimate

Apply the coupon or sale discount to the original purchase amount.
Calculate the gift-card savings on the share of the remaining purchase covered by a discounted gift card.
Calculate cashback only when the user indicates that the payment method remains eligible.
Calculate card rewards only on the spending the user says is reward-eligible.
