How CashewBack Works

CashewBack helps you compare several common ways to save before you make a purchase.

The core workflow is simple:

  1. Search for a retailer.
  2. Compare available cashback offers.
  3. Compare discounted gift-card options.
  4. Review any important restrictions.
  5. Decide which savings path makes sense for your purchase.

Step 1: Start with the retailer

Savings decisions are easier when they begin with the store rather than the rewards program.

If you plan to shop at a particular retailer, CashewBack can organize the relevant savings choices on one page. This prevents the common problem of checking only the cashback or gift-card service you already use.

Step 2: Compare cashback offers

Cashback portals may pay a percentage or fixed amount after you click through the portal and complete an eligible purchase.

Rates can vary between portals and can change over time. The highest displayed rate is therefore a useful starting point, not the end of the comparison.

Before choosing a portal, check:

  • The displayed rate
  • Eligible purchase categories
  • Excluded products or services
  • Coupon restrictions
  • New-customer requirements, if any
  • Payment timing
  • Minimum payout rules

Step 3: Compare discounted gift cards

A discounted gift card can reduce your effective purchase cost before you even reach checkout.

For example, a $100 gift card purchased for $95 represents a 5% discount before considering any other eligible savings.

Gift-card discounts can vary by marketplace, delivery format, denomination, and supply. As with cashback, the visible percentage should be checked against the actual terms.

Step 4: Look for stacking opportunities

Some savings methods can work together, while others cannot.

A purchase might potentially involve:

  • A retailer sale price
  • A coupon or promo code
  • A cashback portal
  • A discounted gift card
  • Credit-card rewards on the gift-card purchase or final transaction

But stacking is never automatic. Portal terms, retailer rules, and coupon restrictions matter.

CashewBack's guides are designed to show the possible combinations while encouraging you to verify the final terms before purchasing.

Step 5: Compare the effective savings

Percentages can be misleading when they apply to different parts of the transaction.

Imagine a $200 purchase with:

  • 4% cashback
  • A gift card available at a 3% discount
  • A separate credit-card reward

Those percentages may not all apply to the same dollar amount, and some may not be compatible.

CashewBack's goal is to help you compare the pieces rather than simply add percentages together.

Why rates change

Cashback and gift-card offers are dynamic. Changes can result from retailer promotions, affiliate budgets, inventory, customer-acquisition campaigns, seasonality, or marketplace supply.

That is why CashewBack emphasizes timestamps and verification.

Our role

CashewBack is a comparison and education resource. We do not control the offers shown by third-party services, and we cannot guarantee that an offer will remain available.

Before completing a transaction, confirm the current rate and terms directly with the provider.
